Heathcliff

Concept designs sketches for Heathcliff. It was important to me that Heathcliff's ethnicity plays a part in his design - though it is never explicitly stated where Heathcliff originates from, it could be speculated he may have South Asian or Arab heritage, since the ports of Liverpool where he was found in the 18th/19th century was a place full of 'Lascars' or sailors from the Indian subcontinent. His design draws heavily on both the natural landscape of the Yorkshire moors (rams, moss, wool) and my own Asian heritage (samurai, bunraku puppetry).
